Library Advisory Committee

Advisory Committee consists of Head of the institution, Professor & Chief Librarian, representatives of Heads of Departments and Students is functioning in the College. This committee is giving in the recommendation of matters regarding the purchase of books, equipment, developments in infrastructure, maintenance, etc.

Library Timings

Monday to Saturday (other than Second Saturday) : 9am to 9pm

Second Saturdays : 9am to 4pm

Sundays : 9am to 1pm


Library External Reading Hall Timings

All Days : 7am to 11pm

Special Extended Timings will be allowed during Examination Times

Library Membership

All regular students, teachers, doctors and other staff of Amala will get Library Membership without any payment. Those who need membership should apply online along with a copy of your staff/student id number and a copy of the Id. Card.

Free to all. The users can use the computers in the Computer Lab, Digital Education Centre, or computers available in other locations of the library subject to the availability. The Digital Education Centre and Computer Lab can be booked in advance for group or specific use.

General Rules

  1. Library users should keep their personal belongings and coat in the library property counter in order. A small note book/note pad, not more than 100 pages, will be permitted in the library for scribbling. Laptop/ Tab without cover/bag is also permitted
  2. Issue and Return of books and other services will be closed half an hour before the closing of the Library.
  3. Any damage or loss of books detected at the time of returning will have to be compensated either through replacement of the damaged or lost book in total or if the book is not readily available in the market, by paying the cost of the book as per rule.
  4. All library users are required to record their entry and exit time in the separate register kept at the Digital Education Centre and Journal Section.
  5. Users are intended to observe silence in the library and permit other silent and studious learners.
  6. For discussions and presentations, users may get allotted in advance the specific areas meant for the purpose.
  7. The Users are not intended to replace the books in the shelves to avoid misplacement. Please leave the used books on the tables. The library assistants will take care of the replacing.
  8. The Users are requested to take special care to keep the library and surroundings neat and clean. Eatables are not permitting in the library.
  9. All Library Users are intended to wear formal dress similar to that use in the Class/Office/Hospital in the Library also.
  10. Before entering the Library, all Library Users should ensure correct RFID Punching for generating Library Statistics. External visitors should enter their details in the Gate Register.
  11. All Students, Staff and Trainees of Amala should carry their Amala Id Card for entering the library and availing any services.
  12. Before leaving the counter, the member must ensure that the Book issued to him / her is in good condition and the member will be responsible for any damage found at the time of returning the book.
  13. Library books, once issued, cannot be taken into the library except for returning at the counter.

Outsider Reference

The Library admission for outsiders and public is permitted on prior permission from the competent authority. Reference, plagiarism and publishing advisory services and other services can be availed by them as per rules.

Carrying any Photo Identity Card and a Recommendation Letter from the Head of the Institution is encouraged to use the Library by the outsiders.
