The library has a large collection of books, national-international journals, magazines, and periodicals, Post Graduate Thesis, Dissertations, Project Reports, Annual Reports, Conference Proceedings, and News Documentations etc. worth of multiple crores. The expenditure for books and journals in this Library is about Rs. 1.50 Crores per year.
It is well equipped with online database like, UpToDate, DELNET, and E-books collections, Turnitin Similarity Checking Tool, etc. Library also has a good digital repository system, D-Space.
We are conducting various User Orientation Education Programmes on different aspects like Medical and other Databases, Research Documentation and Management, Plagiarism Control, Publishing, etc. We are also organizing various Conferences, Seminars and workshop on Research publication, Plagiarism Control; Open Source Software like KOHA, DSpace etc. Library has a floor area of 19298 Square feet spread over in two floors of the St. Joseph Block. It is well equipped, fully centrally air-conditioned reading and reference halls, Digital Library and Digital Education Centre and other amenities. The total seating capacity is 260.
The Library is fully automated with Koha and DSpace software and it is well connected with high speed Internet and Wi-Fi for searching the library resources and availing the services. The power back up is supported with UPS and dedicated Online Generator. The library has provision for non-a/c reading area for desired users. Other than normal OPAC Systems, computers, printers, scanners and copying facilities, the library has a Central Multi-purpose Digital Education Centre with 48 Computers, Interactive Display Panel, Sound System, etc. enabling digital medical education, User orientation, trainings, workshops, online courses, examinations, seminars, etc.
RFID Barrier Access Gate System is used for the entry and exit to the library.
