Rural Health Training Centre

The Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) makes healthcare accessible to underserved communities while also serving as an important training objective for Amala’s medical students. Initially started at Kallur (21 kms from campus), it shifted to Vellattanjoor in 2022, which is approximately 17 kilometres from the college. Around 30,000 rural people are currently served at this six-bed health facility.

Since May 11, 2025, Speciality clinics have been operational with faculty support from departments like General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology. With a key focus on medical education, structured training for undergraduates, house surgeons, postgraduates, and nursing students are regulated through this facility.  Residential facilities for house surgeons and community medicine postgraduates are also provided at RHTC.
