January 1st Dr. C R Saju, Prof. & HOD Community Medicine was appointed as the PG Academic Programme Co-ordinator.
January 6th to 10th Amala infection prevention and control week programme with the theme “Vaccines are everybody’s businesses” was organised from 06th to 10th January, 2020. Short Film festival and quiz competition were organised in connection with the celebration. A conference on “ Infection Preventionnd control practises “ was also organised on 10-01-2020. .
January 10th AIMS in association with RNTCP institutional core committee conducted a training session. The topic was: ‘Tuberculosis – Treatment and program updates”, State taskforce chairperson & Prof., Dept. of Pulmo. Medicine, GMC, TVM was speaker.
February 4th Amala Oncology Dept. celebrated World Cancer day. Wig donations were also made on the day.
February 10th An awareness class on Corona Virus was organised for all students and faculty.
February Research Methodology Workshop for faculty was conducted by the Dept. of Community Medicine on 18th and 26th February and 5th March.
February 22nd A knowledge exchange programme between department of Dermalogy of the college and Dowling Dermalogy club, UK was organised. The Dowling club members attended the OPDs and visited the wards. The programme concluded with various presentations by the club members.
February 23rd Department of Community Medicine with input from the Department of Paediatrics was conducted a CME “Immunization” .
February 28th The New OP system with centralised AC of the Department of Medical Oncology and Haematology was inaugurated by Shri. A C Moideen, Hon’ble Minister for Local Administration.
August 3rd Ajay R of 2015 batch achieved First Rank in KUHS-Third MBBS Degree Part II examination, Feb 2020.
August 18th The Molecular lab under Microbiology Lab got NABL Accreditation for open and closed RT-PCR.
August 26th Fr. Francis Kurissery CMI, Director was elected the Vicar Provincial and Councillor for Education and Media Communication of Devamatha Province of CMI Congregration.
Fr. Thomas Vazhakkala CMI, Associatie Director was elected the Councillor for Social Apostolate.
October 8th The virtual Inauguration of NABL Accredited Open and closed RT- PCR was done by Smt. K K Shailaja Teacher, Hon’ble Minister for health, social Justice and Woman and child Development- Government of Kerala. The online programme was presided over by Rev. Dr. Davis Panakkal CMI, Provincial and Trustee-in-Chief of AIMS. Rev. Fr. Francis Kurissery, Director, welcomed the the gathering.
November Dr. Arathy Jerald won the prestigious 13th Dr. B.K.H Nair Memorial Award (Young Scientist Award ) for her research work titled “ Finger- tip Unit in Indian scenario : Is it relevant?” in 47th Annual Conference of IADVL Kerala, e Cuticon Kerala 2020.
November Dr. Twaseem P M won First prize for Award paper presentation on “Recalcitrant Oral Lichen Planus – Marker of Haematological Malignancy” during e- Cuticon Kerala 2020.
November Dr. Sruthi Mohanan won Second prize for Award paper presentation on “A Marker for Prognosticating Pemphigus ” during e- Cuticon Kerala 2020.
November Dr.Vaisna Gopi, Second year PG student in Ophthalmology got the Best Teacher award in Teachers of Tomorrow competition conducted during the 47th Annual Conference of Kerala Society of Ophthalmic surgeons conducted in Nov. 2020.
November 28th “World COPD Day e-CME” organized by Dept. of Respiratory Medicine.
December 19th CME “Legal Updates on Medical Practice” was organized by the Dept. of Forensic Medicine.
December Dr.Sethulakshmi R., final year PG student in OBG got first prize in the topic “A comparison of RM1&4 in detecting malignant ovaries masses – a descriptive study conducted during the E-Conclave AICC RCOG.
